Florida

In September, the strongest hurricane since 1935 hit the west coast of Florida; devastating Ft. Myers, and the small community of Harlem Heights. A week later Cypress was on the ground to determine the best use of resources. This led us to the home of Virginia and Lynn Rosado, a mother and daughter, who were trapped in their home but managed to get out to a nearby raft. We will continue to help them and others in the rebuilding process.

Following the storm in September 2017, Cypress began cleaning up the neighborhoods around Vega Baja, patching roofs and building friendships with town leaders. Cypress is now focused on education reform on the island, with the goal of motivating the next generation of leaders.

Cypress is thankful to be involved which such a great community.
