Rebuilding Hope: How Cypress and Volunteers Restored a Vietnam Veteran's Home After Kentucky Tornadoes

In the quiet town of Cayce, Kentucky, Don Wright watched as tornadoes ripped through his community, destroying nearly half of the home he had lived in since he was five years old. A Vietnam veteran living with a heart condition, Don found himself overlooked as larger towns like Mayfield became the focus of media and major relief organizations. But Don’s story didn’t end there. Together with Heart 911 and a group of dedicated local volunteers, Cypress stepped in to ensure Don’s house was rebuilt. Don’s story reminds us that no one, no matter how small their town, should ever be forgotten.
