Disaster Response

Project Overview

Hurricane Helene caused widespread devastation across western North Carolina, with Asheville and surrounding communities facing severe flooding, infrastructure damage, and displacement.

Cypress Missions is actively working on recovery efforts in Asheville, helping restore stability and provide long-term support for those affected.

Who We Are Helping

This project is focused on supporting individuals and families in the Asheville area who have been impacted by Hurricane Helene, including vulnerable populations such as local veterans in need of stable housing.

Many in the community continue to face challenges related to housing, access to resources, and rebuilding their lives after the storm.

How We Are Helping

Cypress Missions is working alongside trusted partners to restore a facility that will provide housing and support for local veterans.

Our efforts are focused on rebuilding safe, functional spaces that will serve as a foundation for long-term recovery and stability within the community.

Who We Are Working With

We are grateful to partner with organizations that are deeply rooted in the Asheville community:

ABCCM

(Asheville Buncombe Community Christian Ministry)

A North Carolina-based nonprofit providing essential services such as emergency assistance, housing, and healthcare to those in need.

The Home Depot Foundation

An organization dedicated to improving the homes and lives of U.S. veterans, supporting skilled trades, and strengthening communities through hands-on service.

Together, these partnerships allow us to expand our impact and better serve those in need.

Why This Work Matters

The impact of Hurricane Helene is still being felt across Asheville, and recovery is an ongoing process.

By restoring housing and supporting local initiatives, Cypress Missions is helping rebuild not just structures, but stability, dignity, and hope for those affected.
